what are Prompts?

Prompts are an optional monthly activities that will award you our on-site currency (Gem Shards) for drawing or writing about your Keypers! There are two prompt categories every month: one themed, and one open. The themed prompt will have a short little blurb to help inspire you, while the open prompt can be used to submit anything! You can only submit to one prompt category each month, so if you submit to the themed prompt, then you can't submit to the open prompt that same month.

Prompts open up on the first of every month at midnight PST and usually close on the last day of the month at 11:59pm PST, unless otherwise announced. You'll have the entire month to create and submit to the prompts!

Prompt Requirements

All art and stories submitted as prompts must be completely new work created within that month.
Minimum Requirements:

• For drawn entries: 1 half-body character, clean lines and fully colored flats
• For written entries: Wordcount reaches 650 words

Rewards for minimum requirements: 5 gem shards

Some prompts may have different minimum requirements or rewards, so please make sure you read through each prompt's description carefully!

Extra rewards

For drawn entries:

• Draw your character as a full body OR add 1 additional character: +3 gem shards
• Fully shaded: +2 gem shards

For written entries:

• Wordcount reaches 800 words: +2 gem shards
• Wordcount reaches 1,000 words: +3 gem shards.

Maximum extra gem shard rewards:  5 gem shards

How to submit a prompt

1. Submit your art or writing to the correct prompt submission gallery (usually found linked in that month's prompt description).
2. Copy the URL link to the submission's full view page.
3. Create a new prompt submission (Menu bar > Submit > Prompt), and select the monthly prompt you're submitting for.
4. Paste in the gallery submission's full view URL in the submission URL field.
5. If you've completed the extra reward requirements, click the "add reward" button, select "Currency" in the first drop down, and then "Gem shards" in the second. Add in the total amount of extra gem shards (shouldn't be more than 5 total!)
6. Click the "Add Character" button and paste in the ID (KEY-### or MYO-KEY-###) of the character featured in your prompt submission. If you added any additional Keyper characters, you can click the "Add Character" button again for another ID field. If the prompt allows for non-Keyper characters to be added, you won't be able to link them in the "Add Character" section. If you want to link a prompt submission to an external character, please paste a link to their off-site profile(s) in the "Comments" section of the profile submission page.
7. Confirm everything looks correct, and hit the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page to place the prompt submission into the mod queue! Keyper staff will now review your prompt submission to make sure it follows the submission guidelines and that all your currency is awarded properly!
